JOKA and the sport of golf

Since the 2019 season, the JOKA Rules Tournament Series has been the largest amateur golf series in Germany (over 400 tournaments / 1,440 match days / approx. 31,000 participants), which is currently experiencing further growth in 5 tournament forms.

These tournament forms are as follows:

  • After Work 9 Hole Trophy with Eclectic Scoring
  • 2-person Texas-Scramble Matchplay
  • Matchday Plus 2-person Texas Scramble
  • Matchday Plus Daily Tournament
  • Single Matchplay

The question of why the tournament series was launched in 2016 with JOKA as the title sponsor is easy to answer.

As rules questions are always asked after every round of golf played, the idea was born to start a Rules Tournament Series with the prospect of establishing it in five years as one of the most well-known and popular golf series in Germany, in which a rules question with a prize draw (opportunity to take part in the German final) is always asked as part of the award ceremony.

The participants qualify for the German finals from the regional tournaments of the five forms of play. Last year, 8 finals with over 700 participants were held at leading German golf clubs (Schloss Moyland / GC Sigerland / GC Ruhpolding / GC Schwanhof / GC Hardenberg / GC Sinsheim / GC Segeberg / Golfpark Dresden Elbflorenz).

The winners of the German finals qualify to take part in the European finals, which take place at the beginning of the following year in sunny Spain in Oliva Nova and will remain a wonderful experience with many positive memories and fabulous golf courses for every previous participant.
